Yarn and Coffee Mount Dora will be hosting its first-ever Make-A-Long! Join us for the NEW YEAR, NEW SWEATER MAL!! We are partnering with Crochet Aweigh to host a slew of fun meetups, and offer beautiful quality yarn kits for your brand new favorite project!For our knitters, we will be making the Lauro Sweater by Minimi Knit Design. This sweater can be knit with DK yarn, or with fingering yarn held double with mohair for a super-soft halo. Recommended yardages are 700-1600y and the pattern is graded from sizes S to 7X. You will need 4.5mm, 4mm, and 3.5mm needles, a cable that is at least 32", and possibly DPNs if you prefer them for knitting small circumferences for the sleeves.For our crocheters, we will be making the Lovely Lace Crochet Sweater by Briana K Designs. This raglan can be made with a sport weight or DK yarn, or with fingering weight held double with mohair, similarly to the Lauro. Recommended yardages are between 1025-2400y and the pattern is graded from sizes XS to 5X. You will need a 3.5mm and 4mm hook to complete the pattern.Both patterns are available on Ravelry and can be reached with the buttons below. Crochet Aweigh in Eustis is offering kits for this event! What is Yarn and Coffee?
We are a community local to the Golden Triangle area of Lake County, Florida. We host a community meetup twice per month, on the second and fourth Saturdays from 10am until 12pm.What is a community meetup?
This is a public meetup with a friendly atmosphere where crafters can come and work on their projects in the excellent company of others who share the same passion as they do! We are not craft exclusive, as long as you enjoy the fiber arts! Bring your embroidery, applique, knitting, crochet, macrame, weaving, cross-stitch, or any other type of textile hobby with you to meet other passionate yarn friends and share progress, tips and tricks, or just chat about life.Is that all Yarn and Coffee is?
Not at all! We also do community events from time to time. In 2023, we Yarn-bombed Downtown Mount Dora. In 2026, we hosted a Hat Drive benefiting local cancer patients. We also have members who are part of other charitable organizations, such as Project Linus and Knots of Love, who can provide more information about these local donation locations. In addition, we have taken field trips to various yarn shops, festivals, and other yarn-related events! Join us in 2027 for our first ever Make-A-Long!What if I don't know how to knit, crochet, or craft with yarn?
Our members can provide you with some tips and tricks from our own experiences! We have a lot of hard-earned experience from our years stitching and can help with some hurdles you might come across! We are here to support one another and have fun in the process! We truly hope you will join us at one of our meetups soon!How can I find out when you are meeting?
We meet every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month! If you would like our official calendar dates, those are all announced via Facebook Events, with all of the location information included on the event posts. This is also where field trips are posted and coordinated!
